Crackback book review

John Coy, author of Crackback, creates a character that may not by good at too many things, but is great at football. Miles Manning, starting corner for his high school football team, strives to be the best player he can be. With the team expected to win conference this year, Miles is under some extra pressure. Over the summer it seems as if all the other players have really bulked and are much bigger than him, he is getting a little insecure about his place on the team. With his dad, coaches, and even his best friend putting so much stress on him, he just doesn't know what to do. Miles does not want to disappoint his dad, but it seems as if every little mistake, his dad won't leave him alone, and Zach, his best friend, is offering him steroids. Zach claims that everyone is doing them and they will help Miles get bigger faster, but Miles is uneasy about the situation. Crackback is a great football book, and I'm sure that this kind of thing is going on all the time.

Materialistic

A materialist is someone who is more concerned with material things instead of spiritual, intellectual, or cultural values. With today's society, people are being sucked into a world pressured by having the "in" look. All over the media, glamorous things are being advertised, catching the attentions of mostly teens, almost brainwashing them into thinking they must have it. From celebrities in the hottest magazines such as "People" and "US Weekly" to our local public schools, the issue is being pushed to have the best new look.
Years ago, parents worked and most kids did too, just making a living for the family. Kids got by with as little as possible. Now today, parents work over time just to make sure their spoiled brats get the new BMW or Gucci's new spring collection. The idea of humbling yourself has gone down the drain, everyone is too worried about fitting in and looking irresistable.
Everyone has changed their values to what they see models on TV sporting. Even those few people out there who still hold their cultural values are really struggling, you are now considered an outcast if you don't let your guard down and fall into the abyss lined with high fashion and no morals.

My Junior Year of High School

My junior year has been ok so far but it is just the middle of the school year. There still is a long road ahead of me but I am ready for it and any task that comes along with it. I am in regular classes so its not that hard I could probably push myself a little harder and do a little better but just do not have the time. Well I got good grades I could have all A’s but I do not study enough to have those kind of grades.
However, other than that, I have had a great junior year and I have had lots of fun I have to say this has been one of the finest years that I have had. Most of the other years of school were just plain and boring. Also did not even want to show up for school but this year is different I like coming to school. That’s about all I have to say about my junior year of school.

The Crucible Charter

The book the crucible there is a charter, her name is Abigail Williams, and she is a bad evil twisted little girl. In this book Abigail is falsely accusing people of witchcraft and the people of the town are believing her even the well-respected people of the town are being accused. Therefore, the town calls in reverend Hale and he is trying to get something straightened out but it is not working very well. Because the judge is not going, for what the reverend has to say.
Reasons for this is that Abigail is bullying the girls to go along with whatever she does and they act like people of the town is sending the devil after them. Just because Abigail does not like them or she just cannot get what she wants. Then the town starts accusing people so they can get what they want like land and belongings that’s being passed down from other siblings. Although Abigail is the person, who started it and did not stop until she thought she was going to get what she had wanted at the beginning.

The Crucible

In the story the Crucible there is alot of bullying going on and most of it is coming from one person and thats abigail williams. She is a young girl that has all the other girls trying to do witchcraft around a fire. Well they get caught and the town is going crazy until they get to the bottom of this witchcraft stuff. Abigail finds out that the town knows and finds all the girls and rells them if they speak a word of it then she will find them and hurt. So they just go with whatever abigail does and eventually she gets what she wants all the people that she dont like and all the people others dont like were getting accused and hung. Abigail played her way through the trials just so she will not hang and how she did this was by bullying the younger girls to do what she said to do. Thats why i think Abigail is the bully in the book Crucible.

The Kite Runner

The book kite runner is a book of redemption and payback and you should read this book. This book is a hard book to read because of all of the things that happen to Hassan, the constant companion and son of his father's servant was attacked and raped by a sociopathic youth. Ashame by the cowardice, Amir could only find one misery the removal of Hassan of his home. So this gave rise to shameful actions and reactions, Amir tried to make Hassan look like a thief. This is mostly caused by a hint of jealously because Amir feared that his dad loved Hassan more than himself.

The Kite Runner reads like a book but unedited, its pattern of drama following that of a life and its language reflecting the way most Americans live. Most of the stuff going on in this book is going to happen or has happen to the very people you know today this is a reason i think this is a good read. Also if you have any extra time then you should read this book or try it out. Some readers might not like the stuff they talk about in this book. I was not really sure about it when i first picked it up but got passed the really bad stuff and ended up finishing it.
